Misty Odhner, Executive Director, Solstice at Austin

Misty Odhner

Executive Director

Misty Odhner is the executive director for Solstice Senior Living at Austin. Originally from Prescott, Ariz., she moved to Austin in 2006 and has worked in the senior living industry for 27 years. She joined the Solstice team in March 2019.

Misty began her career as a CNA for hospice when she was just 18 years old. She went on to receive a master’s degree in social work from the University of New Mexico and a master’s degree in gerontology from Arizona State University.

She is a proud mom of two: Misty’s son, Hillel, lives in Austin and also works in the senior living industry, and her daughter, Joanie, is a junior at Washington State University in Seattle. In her spare time, Misty loves to travel, swim and cook.

She is ecstatic to be a part of the Solstice family here in Austin and believes that, if you love what you do, you never have to work another day again.

Jodie Sanford, Director of Sales and Marketing, Solstice at Austin

Amanda Rodriguez

Director of Sales and Marketing

Amanda Rodriguez has enjoyed senior living since the age of 13, when she volunteered to play piano for residents at a skilled nursing center where her mom worked. During high school, she volunteered with the activities department, which led to her first senior living role as activities assistant. When Amanda moved away for college, she got a part-time job as a restaurant server in an independent living and assisted living community and completed an internship in a hospice facility. She earned a degree in music therapy from Colorado State University and became a board-certified music therapist, specializing in geriatrics.

Before joining the Solstice at Austin team, Amanda served as director of programming at a senior living community, with a special interest in helping families navigate difficult conversations and decisions to find a safe place for their loved ones.

“My first love will always be the residents I serve on a daily basis. My second love quickly became helping families navigate senior living and providing answers and a solution during a stressful time.”

Amanda was born and raised in Colorado. She and her husband moved to Austin in 2022. In her free time, Amanda enjoys making music, listening to podcasts, working jigsaw puzzles, and getting out on a trail with her husband and dog.
