Meet the Team
Misty Odhner is the executive director for Solstice Senior Living at Austin. Originally from Prescott, Ariz., she moved to Austin in 2006 and has worked in the senior living industry for 27 years. She joined the Solstice team in March 2019.
Misty began her career as a CNA for hospice when she was just 18 years old. She went on to receive a master’s degree in social work from the University of New Mexico and a master’s degree in gerontology from Arizona State University.
She is a proud mom of two: Misty’s son, Hillel, lives in Austin and also works in the senior living industry, and her daughter, Joanie, is a junior at Washington State University in Seattle. In her spare time, Misty loves to travel, swim and cook.
She is ecstatic to be a part of the Solstice family here in Austin and believes that, if you love what you do, you never have to work another day again.
Director of Sales and Marketing
Ann Kolacki is the director of Sales and Marketing for Solstice Senior Living at Austin. Inquisitive by nature, Ann has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a “life” degree in people. She found the senior living industry while looking for respite care for her mother-in-law. After Ann had worked in foster care in Arizona for many years, a community leader asked her if she had ever thought about working with seniors, and Ann embarked on a new career path.
In her spare time, Ann enjoys listening to classical music, especially when performed by her daughter, who is an accomplished cellist. You can usually hear it being played loudly at home while Ann bakes for friends, another passion she shares with our residents and associates.
Business Office Director
Jaime Schwartz is the Business Office director at Solstice Senior Living at Austin. Passionate about helping seniors, Jaime joined the team three years ago and fell in love with the job instantly. Previously, Jaime worked as a medical assistant and an administrative assistant. Jaime was born and raised in Austin and in her spare time enjoys cooking, crafting and spending time with her 10-year-old son.
Culinary Services Director
Maurice Martinez is the executive chef at Solstice Senior Living at Austin. He was born in Florida but considers Texas his home. Needing to support his family, he became a waiter, a dishwasher, and then moved on to prep cook and eventually a line cook. One year later, Maurice became the kitchen manager of that restaurant, where he remained for three more years.
Maurice and his family then moved to El Paso, where he prepared banquets for guests at the Marriott hotel. After several years, he transferred to the Austin Marriott as sous chef, where he cooked for the likes of Gov. Greg Abbott and Nolan Ryan. He also worked at the Radisson and Crowne Plaza, gaining valuable knowledge in customer experience. He decided to take a position with the University of Tennessee to earn his culinary degree and a second degree in business management.
After graduation, Maurice moved into the health care industry with the Seton network, opening the new kitchen at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas. He was promoted to Seton Main as chef manager, and then returned to El Paso to open Las Palmas Medical Center. Wanting to return to Austin, Maurice found his place in the kitchen of a senior living community, joining Solstice Senior Living as Culinary Services director. Maurice loves our residents, and finds them to be hospitable, humble and grateful for thoughtfully prepared meals. He loves when flavors and aromas of food take people back to fond memories of their childhood and is looking forward to enriching the lives of our residents at Solstice.
